11 Commonly Accepted Lies We Were Taught By Society

  1. Luck → Success — Pick a random successful person. Look at their Biography. Notice the date they started and the date they succeeded. Re-think what you know about luck.
  2. The Human Body — No natural human body looks like it does in any media. Buckets of make-up, absolutely perfect lighting, and massive amounts of Photoshop make up the images and movies we see.
  3. Material Belongings = Happiness — This is largely where the idea that “Money = Happiness” comes from. In every Advertisement and commercial there’s some form of happiness or fulfillment involved, seemingly as a cause of whatever product is being sold. But if every product can make you happy, aren’t you the common denominator?
  4. Love Is Effortless — Nope. Not true. Not at all. True love and amazing relationships require hard work, difficult conversations and constant improvement! There may be ‘love at first sight’, but not ‘happily ever after’ without any effort.
  5. Men And Women Are Equal — Our bodies are different, our minds operate differently, and what we need is different too. We cannot put everyone in the same boat, as that boat is not what everybody needs. We all need different things! We are equal because we are humans. But that’s already where it ends.
