11 Ways To Get Over Overthinking

- Let Go — In the end, the overthinking is just thoughts. Let the thoughts go and move on to better things. This harder said than done, but does help in theory.
- Focus On Better Things — Actively decide to think about better things. Focus on your future, on how to improve your life or how to get the things you want to get. While this will not stop you from thinking it will redirect the thoughts.
- Ask For Proof — Ask your mind for proof of the thoughts you have. How does it know? Most of the overthinking happens with theories and assumptions, rarely anything with proof. If you want to test whether you have proof or not then give yourself some alternative, positive counter examples to the situation and you will see that most of the thoughts you have are baseless.
- Get Busy — Fill your schedule with so many things that you do not have time to think. If you can make this exciting things or things that move you forward, even better.
- Break A Sweat — Physical Exercise is shown to release endorphins. These endorphins can make you feel better and slow your thinking down.
- Practice Meditation — The whole point of meditation is to re-align your thoughts. You can never stop your thinking entirely, but you can learn to have better control over it.
