14 Simple And Effective Lessons To Maximize Productivity

  1. Stop Making Excuses — You know exactly what you need to do. Of course there are more interesting and more enjoyable things out there, but if you follow those you will never do what actually matters. Chasing what is interesting over what you need to do is just an excuse.
  2. Work In Spite Of Your Emotions — You will never truly feel like it, but you must learn to do the work anyway.
  3. Remove What Does Not Help You — Throw out your TV, turn your phone off, and blacklist any sites that just distract you. Put in preventative measures to stop being used by things.
  4. Prioritize — What actually is most important? Do you even know? How do you know what to do first if you do not know what is most important?
  5. Start Early — You have more willpower at the start of the day. Do not wait until the end to do what is important.
  6. Start Simple — If you struggle with productivity, discipline or motivation, then start easier, not harder. Commit to 5 minutes a day, to 1 habit a day, or to sitting down at a certain time every day. Give yourself the room to develop a habit. That is your starting line.
