16 Ways To Reduce Your Anxiety

- Expose Yourself To More Sunshine — Sunshine helps in releasing chemicals known as “feel-good-hormones”. More sunshine = more positive hormones = less anxiety.
- Meditate — Meditation is not something elusive anymore; it’s effects have been tested and studies have clearly shown that meditating reduces anxiety and stress to the point where meditative exercises are even used in therapy today.
- Take Deep Breaths — If you cannot meditate then at least take some deep, slow, breaths. Anxiety often causes us to breathe shallow and fast. According to the Embodiment Theory, doing the opposite may then result in opposite feelings.
- Make A Definite Plan — Create a battle plan to combat your anxiety. Make a very detailed, laid out plan so you create some security for yourself on how you will fight the anxiety.
- Challenge The Anxiety — Go outside and leave your comfort zone entirely. Talk to strangers, preach to every passersby, or try some other social anxiety challenges. This will make you realize that all you are afraid of is the fear itself (as cliché as that sounds…).
