Here are some things I have done time and time again that raise my motivation to ensure a productive day:

  1. Cold Showers — Please don’t get me wrong: I despise cold showers. But if you put it logically, 1–2 minutes of discomfort for a fully charged morning seems like a pretty fair trade.
  2. Taking A Walk/Jog Outside — Simply getting out and about for 5–10 minutes as soon as you wake up. If this is the first thing on your list you will feel refreshed and ready to take on the day before it even really starts. Getting a dog makes this a lot easier.
  3. Planning The Day — Plan what you will do for the majority of the day and make it exciting! Looking at only productive things will not make you any more ready to do these things. Instead make it 80–90% productive and allow for 10–20% of fun, enjoyable, relaxing activities!
  4. Eat A Healthy Breakfast — This should be a no-brainer but some people still do not do this. Fresh fruits & vegetables, a bit of protein and some carbs to kick-start the day. You want to find food that is easy and fast to digest so that you get energized as soon as possible.
  5. Start With Your Hardest Task — Do not wait until later in the day to start; work on the hardest, most important thing, first. Everything else can wait. Trust me, you’ll feel a lot better.
