  1. Give up something you love — Chocolate, sugar, video games, TV, music, etc. Give something up for 30 days just to prove to yourself you can. Discuss punishments with friends/family should you slack or give up.
  2. Get a coach to train you — This can be a life coach, personal trainer or any other coach. Have them set up a regiment for you, or a set of habits, and commit to them that you will do this. Committing to a friend also works but they have to be able to call you out on should you mess up.
  3. Say “NO” — Don’t just say “No” to things you do not like, but also say “No” to EVERYTHING unless you have done what you needed to get done. Your commitments need to first. For the highly motivated this also means your commitments come before food or sleep.
  4. Create a “stick” and a “carrot” — Only when you have positive outcomes for being self-disciplined, and negative outcomes for not being self-disciplined, will you ever have the necessity to become so. Simple 101 Conditioning helps a ton!
  5. Work for 24 hours straight — Try working for 24 hours with breaks only to eat or to use the bathroom. This will be incredibly tough — you will get frustrated, lose your concentration, and you will have to scrap a lot of what you have worked on, but it only takes 24 hours and provides you with massive self-discipline once achieved.
