7 Tips To Improve Your Writing Skills

  1. Write — Practice makes perfect” goes the saying and this is true. If you write 500 words every day for 2 years straight, you will end up a pretty good writer. Obviously, if you increase the number of words per day, the amount of time decreases for you to improve your skills.
  2. EDIT — Every single draft, no matter who it comes from or when it’s written is bad at first. The first part of writing is just giving your ideas some form of structure. After that, you still have to actually write out everything and form the major points of your writing. Editing is 80% of the work.
  3. Look Up Synonyms — You do not have to spend a long time learning random vocabulary words. All it takes is to research some other ways to describe what you want to say in a more lavish form. There are so many words that will fit far better that you can use for your intentions. Look for them.
  4. Post Your Writing — Every day you should post at least something, even if it is only a short quote you think of. This gets you serious about your writing, instead of being just some hobby you abandon once it gets too difficult.
  5. Don’t Justify — The stronger, more direct your sentences are the more effect they have. You want to trigger your readers in some emotional way. Make your words stand out, powerful and meaningful. Do not waste time on weak…
