  1. Just 5 More Minutes” — You are already using this tactic to defeat productivity, and have practiced it a lot, meaning you are probably pretty good at using it. So why not twist it around and use it to benefit you instead of hindering you? Say this before you go to take a break!
  2. 4…3…2…1…GO!” — Giving yourself a countdown like this prevents you from overthinking the task. If you do not have time to complain or resist the work, you won’t! Do not give your mind the chance to throw in random thoughts and you will remain in action. If counting from 4 still creates too many resisting ideas then count down from 3 or 2 instead.
  3. “Wenn zwei sich streiten, freut sich der Dritte.”Literally translated: “When two people quarrel, the third rejoices.” When you are arguing with yourself as to whether or not you should do something, allow your body to be the third that simply acts. While they are fighting over whether or not you should get up your body is already preparing breakfast, for example.
  4. Be Honest With Yourself — Of course you want to watch a movie right now, relax by the beach or read your book! Of course you don’t want to work! Who does? But so what? Just because you desire something else doesn’t mean that has to take control. You know being productive right now is better. That’s honest too! Agree
