8 Tricks To Identifying Fake People

- Inconsistencies — Either in person vs. online, with a large group vs. a small group, or a difference in location. When a person is fake they will often put on a mask depending on the situation they are in and their traits will differ.
Warning: We all do this to some extend, so only apply this when they are being very different, or when they do a 180° turn in their personality. - Lack of Topics — When you engage with a fake person they will likely stick to one topic they are familiar with and avoid most other topics of discussion. This is either because they are only comfortable with that or because they find an easier time faking within that topic, or, when encountered in an online way, it is because their script is only designed for certain situations.
Asking them more specific questions can pry them open here. - Beating around the Bush — Honest people are usually very direct; fake people are the opposite. They will weave you around topics to get to their original point or to stay within the boundaries they set.
Staying on your topic and not relenting is a good way to test them in this point. - Arrogance — Often carrying arrogant traits, fake people will likely hold onto one thing they are very very proud of or an achievement that is unusual for most of the people in their circles.
