Act Fast & Keep Your Motivation Alive

In the years I have been self-employed I have tried everything imaginable to stay motivated:

I woke up as early as 4:00 a.m., finished all my major projects before 10:00 a.m., had full schedules, listened to motivational videos once an hour, exercised, had strong routines, hung up motivational pictures on my wall, added cell phone reminders to serve as motivational triggers, reminded myself of my ‘why’, worked harder, worked later, stayed emotional, lacked all emotion, and all of that is just to name a few.

But the only thing that truly worked was this:

Acting Fast!

The reason why most of those tricks above worked at all was because they followed the more basic principle of acting quickly throughout the day.

When we act fast, when we have busy schedules and when we do not have the time to think about what we do and just do it, we stay motivated.

Not because we gain motivation doing this, but rather because we do not block the motivation we have from the get-go.

Realize that every little thing you do already pre-requisites motivation.

You eat because you are motivated by hunger, drink because you are motivated by thirst, seek joy because you are motivated by the idea of happiness, and so on and so forth.
