An Experience That Changed My Perspective On Life Forever

I was living at home again.

After a long time working I decided it was in my best interest to take a break of scenery from my usual office.

I was working in my brothers room, taking a break and looking out the window.

A thin blanket of snow covered the houses behind the computer screen.

And, for whatever reason, my mind started to drift.

I thought about how fortunate we were to have roofs that actually prevented water from entering our homes, walls that kept the warm air inside and the cold air outside, and water, roads and all these other comforts we take for granted.

When I thought more about it there had to have been someone, somewhere, a really long time ago that came up with the concept for all of this.

They may have sat at a desk just like I was then, thinking about a way to make people’s lives a little easier and from that sprung forth ideas that we all now live with and never even realize.

I looked to the rooftop of the house across the street and saw a single tile reflecting the sunlight from the melted snow.

One day someone had to place that tile.
