Become More Productive By Becoming Less Productive

Huh? Doing less? How is doing less going to make you more productive?

Well, think about it:

A lot of people that try to be productive fill their schedule to the brim.

They try to get up early, eat healthy, get to work soon and leave late.

They try to get all projects done at the same time and it’s always just more and more and more!

But is that really being productive?

Just because someone is doing more things doesn’t mean they get more done.

Because most of the stuff does not matter.

An Engineer that eats healthy, gets up early, takes care of themselves, works long hours, writes a book, paints, goes to sports, and still has time for their family may seem productive.

Their life seems great and they seem incredibly hard working.

But, 5 years later, they might still be doing those exact things.

They did not progress in their career, their family situation did not get better, and neither their book nor their art took off.

But what do you think would happen if that Engineer focused 99% of the energy he spends on all those different tasks on only one of them?
