Behind The Scenes Of Comparisons
A person might make a lot of money in their business, but, when you look at the other aspects of their life you see that the money is not making them any happier.
A person might be amazing at playing the piano, but, when you look at their journey you realize how much time they gave up to increase that skill to such a degree and see sacrifices you didn’t have to make.
A person might have a great relationship now, but, when you look at the bigger picture you know that those relationships are only grown through thousands of fights, compromises, and long and difficult talks; no relationship started out perfect and no relationship will forever be perfect.
Understand that when you are comparing yourself to others you are comparing yourself to an incredibly tiny margin of their life.
You are seeing a highlight-reel of their life and are not getting the full experience.
Take TV shows for example, such as The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother or Friends.
In the 20-some episodes shown to us every season we see roughly 20–40 minutes of their life; this adds up to about 400–800 minutes or to about 6–12 hours.
We see only that, yet for the characters a year is supposed to pass.
