Ironically, the more energy you expend the more you will gain.

This is not only true when it comes to your fitness and physical body but also true in relationship to boredom.

If you are bored right now you are not doing enough in your day or in your life and you simply need to do more.

The trick to boredom is that it really doesn’t matter what you do, as long as you do something!

However, if you find something that you can truly invest yourself into, and something you can progress in, you will find yourself feeling much less bored.

The key here is Time & Energy Investment.

I know that is easier said than done, especially if you have been bored a while, but just try to invest more conscious energy and time into what you are already doing.

You do not have to start anything new, but just consciously invest more of yourself into what you are already doing.

If you are playing Tennis try to join some tournaments and spend an extra hour a week practicing.

If you love reading then try to read some more books and challenge yourself with retaining more of the books you read.

If you spend your time playing video games then try to learn more about the games you are playing and improve your rankings.

Treat each of these as a skill to develop with serious time spent on each to improve.

If going deep like this does nothing to fight your boredom then you go wide.

Try going deeply into what you are doing first before you decide to spread yourself.

The reason for this is that you are only likely to spread yourself wide to find another new thing to entice you.

The newness, however, will disappear after a short amount of time.

Similarly to a new relationship, the spark will eventually fade. If you want to create a lasting, passionate fire then you must consciously invest your time and energy into the relationship you already have.

It is the same for your career, for your joy, for your hobbies, skills and life overall.
