1.Know That No One Really Cares.

We all believe we are the main character of the movie, the main protagonist in the story of our life.

And while, from our point of view, that may be true, there is no one else sitting in that theater watching our movie.

Life only happens as vividly to us because it appears this way in our mind.

Everyone else is sitting in an entirely different movie, watching their own lives on the big screen.

Sure, sometimes you may appear in their movie, as they will appear in yours, but at that point you, or them, are nothing but an extra.

People pay about as much attention to you as they do to an extra in a movie, and you pay similar attention to them.

You can see this easily with two little tests:

  • How many faces do you remember that you saw today? Do you remember any at all? What did those people wear?
  • How often do you think about things another person did, said or felt? You may do this with your partner, but most people do not even put themselves into the shoes of their loved ones, much less a stranger.
