Career Mistakes You Must Avoid At All Costs

  • Being Too Arrogant To Listen — Everyone knows something you don’t, be it your crappy boss, your annoying coworker, or your arrogant employee. Listen to them for your own benefit and learn. As soon as you pretend you know everything you rob yourself from more chances to learn.
  • Being Too Good-Willed — Being too afraid to stand up for what you believe in is the best way to get trapped in a job that you hate and being given tasks you do not want to do. Kindly, respectfully, but purposefully, tell people off when you need to. Learn to set healthy boundaries where you can.
  • Giving Up Too Early — People that do not get the career they want often give up out of sheer lack of drive. It is not about fighting your way to the top but persisting longer than the people around you. This is both true for rising in a company and for finding your dream job.
  • Giving Up Too Late — Successful people of all kinds sacrifice constantly and give up smaller things for better things almost every step of the way. Give up on the things that do not matter to make room for greater things.
  • Not Thinking Ahead — You are smarter than you give yourself credit for. If you can think one step ahead you will often identify what things deserve most of your time and effort. Follow the money, follow your bosses eyes, and understand where…
