Why are you doing what you are doing?

Understanding your why will always remain the biggest key to motivation.

That being said, if you really want to find out why you are doing what you are doing you need to look deeper into it.

Do not make the same mistake as most that stop at the first “why”.

Let’s look at an example and say you are in need of motivation to study and give the following answers to the questions:

Why do you need to study? “So that I can get great grades.”

Why do you need great grades? “So that I can get a great degree which will get me the job I want.”

Why do you need that job? “Because I want to be happy, fulfilled and make a lot of money. I want to love what I do.”

Why is it so important that you find something you love to do? “Because I cannot imagine any other way to live my life. I want to love what I do so I can be happy and give my future family the life they want.”

Why is the happiness of your future family so important to you? “Because I believe I will do anything for them. I want to be an amazing parent and give a lot to my kids and everyone around me.”
