I think the main thing about that Sarcasm fact is that, to be sarcastic, you have to understand the situation in much more depth, meaning you must be smarter to even be sarcastic. If you then try to be sarcastic in situations, that begets you understanding that situation a lot more. Hence: Sarcasm makes you smarter and more creative.
