Do This Small Thing Every Day To Have A Positive Impact On The World
Throw some rocks.
Do you remember when you used to skip rocks as a kid?
You’d find that perfect stone, hold it lightly in your hand, and, with a good fling of the wrist, would throw it out into the water.
More often than not, the excited smile on your face would vanish immediately with a nice plopping sound as the rock dove straight into the water.
Disappointing.
But sometimes, the rock would skip on the surface, skip again, and again and again and would fall in the water so far away you couldn’t even hear it anymore.
I want you to start skipping stones again! “You want to know how to change the world? One act of random kindness at a time.” — God, Evan Almighty I want you to throw some rocks.
Do something nice for someone today; completely randomly.
Pay for the coffee for the person behind you, write a positive note and put it on the windshield of someone’s car, or buy donuts for your friends at work.
Take your partner out to dinner randomly, engage someone who’s sitting alone in a conversation or send out a random text to someone to tell them how much you love them.
Every time the world becomes a little better just because you do something nice.
One nice thing, one act of random kindness, changes the world.
Every nice thing you do is like a rock being thrown onto the water.
You may not always see the effect, it may sometimes even be completely irrelevant, but sometimes you may affect everyone on the planet and not even know it!
The rock may not always skip.
The person may take your kindness and keep it for themselves and the rock sinks into the water.
But sometimes, the rock skips, and skips and skips and skips!
And with just one little act of kindness, you may change the entire world.
You do something kind for someone else and they return the favor, doing something kind for another person, who then does something kind for somebody else, who then does the same, and the chain goes on and on and on.
That one rock may cause a mountain to crumble or a volcano to erupt.
It may cause someone to fall in love, someone to come up with the next life-changing invention or starts someone on the road to becoming a leader the world needed.
Just like a domino effect, the random acts of kindness you throw out may bring forces to roll out you never thought they would!
Give the world your all.
The only problem is you’ll never know!
Be as positive as you can be.
Give more than you want to receive.
Squeeze out every drop of positivity and energy you have in everything you do.
And throw out acts of random kindness everywhere!
That is how you truly make the highest positive impact you can.
