Does “Fake It Till You Make It” Actually Work?
I used to be a very shy guy.
I never talked much to anyone, it would take me weeks to open up to people and I would stay quiet most of the time when others talked.
Having had low self-confidence throughout my life it was really hard for me to actually go for what I wanted, since I never thought of myself as being smart enough or great enough to actually achieve it.
Eventually I decided enough was enough: I needed more confidence in my life.
I was so sick and tired of always being in the back line, always being afraid to talk to people, and never going for what I truly wanted.
I was tired of being pushed into the back when walking with friends, was tired of having no goals that I had accomplished when speaking to others, and was tired of looking in the mirror and seeing someone I did not like.
So I began to research, visiting YouTube every day for tips on confidence and reading Post after Post online I finally stumbled across one tip that changed everything.
It was from an old Brendon Burchard video in which he said the following: “You need no reason to feel confident.”
For some reason this resonated with me and I rushed out to try to apply it.
