Enjoy Life By Taking It All Just A Little Slower: Advice For Those Who Are Too Stressed
When I was younger my father would always tell me “Either you suffer now or you suffer later.”
This was to get me motivated to study, work hard and grind, for if I did, if I suffered now, I could enjoy a peaceful, stress-free life.
If I did not, and enjoyed my time now instead, I would pay the price for that later down the road.
So, I began to grind.
I took summer classes to get ahead with my college credits, took the maximum amount of classes in college and the hardest ones, tried to read as much as I could and I worked very hard in the jobs I took and in the things I studied.
When I eventually quit out of college this grind did not stop and I worked many 10+ hour days, often worked 7 days a week, and grinded for well over 2 years before I finally collapsed.
I believed in those words my father gave me and worked and worked and worked, never realizing that I was absolutely miserable and, in the end, it did not even work out.
By the time I was 24 I had no college degree, was running a business that was loosing money every month and my relationship was going down the drain as well.
