You’re walking along a wide path.

Looking around you see millions of other people walking it too and you feel safe because of it.

Everyone seems to go the same direction, giving you the sense that there must be something at the end that is worth walking towards.

The people that come from the front, the ones you see on TV or in movies keep giving you the idea that this path is worth it, which keeps you walking through all the difficulties along the way.

Sometimes the path gets muddy and wet, it thunders, rains and storms, or becomes so cold it’s hard to bear, but you keep walking anyway.

No matter how weird the path may seem or how unhappy you are, you are sure that not everyone can be wrong.

However, there will often come a time when you cannot pretend any more. You realize and accept that this path is not making you happy…

Many of us continue to follow in the rat race because we do not want to take responsibility for our life.

Taking responsibility would mean that if we screw up it’s on us, whereas, by participating in the rat race, we can still point our fingers to diffuse that pain.

Since there are so many others walking the rat race with us they will all e wrong too; it’s as though they act as a shield…
