  1. Take some time every day to appreciate yourself. Look in the mirror and say “I am proud of you for…” or “I love you for…. Repeat this multiple times a day. A good trick to do this is to write “I love you” with a dry-erase marker on your bathroom mirror so that you look at yourself every day with those 3 words at the top.
  2. Instead of finding your self-worth from things like your video game skill or how much you know about the latest TV shows, take your self-worth from what really holds value to you. What really adds meaning to a life? What adds value? If you save countless lives as a doctor, go to charitable events every week or take care of some amazing children, start an impressive company or plant a million trees, what’s loosing a friend or two in comparison? Doesn’t that just pale into nothingness?
  3. You made it past countless problems, faced your own demons and fought them off, and survived plenty of horrible moments. In spite of all of that you are still here. So even if something worse were to happen, history shows that you can make it through that too. No matter what you loose, you can still go on.
  4. We often think that loosing something means it disappears forever. Loosing a friend does not mean the end of that friendship forever, nor does it mean you can never find another friend…
