How I Got Through The Hardest Moment Of My Life
For most of my life I was always a very smart student.
I took part in all the extra classes I could, tried to get into every program, be it honors or AP, and even spent 15 weeks over 3 summer breaks taking college classes, all to get ahead.
I participated in extracurricular activities, joined as many clubs as I could, and took every opportunity that came my way.
Over time my friend groups, achievements, self-worth, happiness and my entire personality was linked to this idea of a “smart student”.
As such, I never had to think much about what I wanted to do, as I just had to keep studying to get everything I wanted from life.
So, I did.
After I finished high school I got into the local university with a full-paid scholarship and started studying Biology, because it was the one thing I thought that had interested be for the past 6–7 years, or rather because it was the only thing I knew since my dad was a biologist too.
I took as many classes as I could going into college and had some very interesting sounding classes, yet after the first semester ended I realized I had no interest in pursuing a career in Biology.
