Our own behavior changes only over time.

We are the way we are for a reason.

Over the years we have gotten to this point and it takes some serious, dramatic life event or a long period of time for us to change who we are.

Usually this process is a slow and steady process that is anything but perfect.

We adopt a habit, run with it for a few days, fail the habit, restart it, stay with it for a bit longer, and do the whole thing over again.

The problem with our change is that it is often negatively tinted.

We look more at the failures than the successes and focus more on every time we mess up rather than every time we do well.

It’s those thoughts that make it much harder to change.

We humans are relatively simple.

Everything we do, and most of what we are, is a result of model learning and conditioning.

We followed what we saw in others and did more of the things that were positively supported while we did less of the things that were negative.

Over time this turned is into who we are today.
