How To Develop Consistent Positive Thinking
Positive thinking does not require you to be happy and positive 24/7.
It’s a skill that you can develop, but one that will never be truly permanent.
No one is fully positive all the time and it serves no purpose to only be happy, as you would get bored and unappreciative of that as well.
That being said, it still leads to a happier life on average when you think positively.
Thinking positively is directly linked to optimism, mental health, physical health, and leads to a more successful and fulfilled life! (If you want to know exactly how much impact optimism and positive thinking has I recommend the book Learned Optimism — by Martin P. Seligman. It describes an idea that is based on over 20 years of psychological research.)
The benefits are definitely there, so let’s look at some strategies to develop this positive thinking:
Accept the Negatives.
I know this sounds like the exact opposite of positive thinking, but hear me out!
When you deny the negative emotions, do not give them any attention or run away from them you will not solve the reason why they are there. There is always a reason for every emotion, but if you do not even accept that the emotion is there you will just keep dragging…
