How To Get That Promotion
The best way to think about a possible promotion is to look at it from the only angle that matters: Your Bosses Angle.
You can never give yourself a promotion.
You do not have that power.
If you did, you would probably be at the top of the company by now.
That means that it does not matter how well you think you are doing or how much effort you think you are putting in, as it is not your opinion that counts.
It is the people in charge that matter.
Whether we like this or not, that’s the truth.
Some of us have experienced this when we see the people get promotions that simply rubbed their noses right up against their boss, even though they had no skills at all.
Yet, again, it’s sadly not our opinion that matters.
What does your Boss want for their company?
What would make you an employee that is irreplaceable to them?
What would make them happy?
Most people think that what will make your boss happy are things like playing nice with the other kids, being friendly and doing our job… But those should be givens.
Your bosses won’t promote you for what you were hired to do.
