How To Stop Procrastinating — The Simplest Way to Get Work Done

Take a deep breath. Hit Alt+F4 on your keyboard. And start with what you need to do.

It does not matter if you are in the middle of a Netflix show, in the middle of reading a Quora post, or in the middle of an online video game match that you cannot pause. Simply stop what you are doing, right then and there, and move on with your life.

That is the easiest way to stop procrastination, because it is the simplest way.

Every other way just involves extra steps and extra conditions that you put on yourself.

The biggest problem most people have with procrastination is that they allow excuses to become reasons.

You say you will finish just that one episode, which is not a reason to not work, but an excuse, or say you need to finish the Quora post or that video game match, but, if we are being honest, you need to do none of that.

You can resume the episode or the post later, and one lost match is not going to end your gaming career.

Stop taking those as hard reasons not to do what you need to do!

The best way to determine if something is an actual reason is that you cannot argue against reasons.
