If We Truly Learn From Our Mistakes Then Why Are We Still So Afraid To Make Them?
Most of the time it is not the mistakes that frighten us about life.
It’s not the pain of whatever thing we do that scares us, but rather about the potential that such a mistake entails.
It’s the resulting losses of that mistake, the things we will not have any longer, that make us so resistant to making mistakes.
If it were just about the pain of the moment, it would not matter; but mistakes do so much more.
When we make mistakes it affects everything.
Making a mistake in a conversation can lead to the loss of a friendship, which then can lead to a lack of our social needs being met and eventually we might end up all alone.
Making a mistake in a business can lead to the loss of finances, security and purpose, which then can make us feel as though there is no point to it all for no matter how hard we try we still fail.
And making mistakes in, even something as little as a commitment we made to ourselves, can lead to us not trusting ourselves anymore and make us envision a bleak, bland and rotten future for ourselves.
