Important Life Lessons I Learned By Playing Video Games
Resource Management — In most games you have a limiting resource. This resource halts your growth and is the one you put the most focus on. The question is: What is that resource in your life? Is it money? Is it joy? Skills? Energy? Creativity? Courage? What resource, if you had more of it, would level up your life?
Keeping The Bigger Picture In Mind — It does not matter how many units you need to sacrifice as long as you win in the end. Sometimes this means expending resources other times it means counting your losses, but it is always in line for the bigger picture. Sacrifice your time, your energy, even your joy at times, if that means you win in the way you want to.
Taking Initiative — It is often the one that is on the offense that more often wins. The one that acts first, takes a little risk, and tries will win more often than not. Yes, they will fail as well, but that teaches them when to take risks, be on the initiative and how to make use of their skills more effectively.
Failure Is The Best Teacher — You will run at life again and again and again, sometimes even feeling it is impossible to succeed, but you learn with every try.
