Is Getting A Degree Worth It?

Colleges and Universities get a weird reputation nowadays.

Many people are either of the belief that neither colleges nor universities can help at all, or they are of the belief that these are places everyone must visit to get anything at all in life.

The truth is, neither is exactly wrong or right, it depends on what you want to do in life.

Depending on your ideal career, on what you want to work on at the end, or where you want to end up in life, it might definitely be worth going to college or university.

It is, however, also true that the value either of these brings is far less grand than what most people would like to think.

College and University do give you more opportunities, but at a cost.

Let’s get some of the facts straight first to make this easier to understand:

  1. Most Of Society Values Degrees — No matter what company you go to or what institution, your degree will always carry at least some value, even if it is just to get you in the door.
  2. Skills Matter More — The above point being made, it is also true though that even with a good degree you are not guaranteed a job. You may get into the door with a great degree, but after that it won’t matter unless your skills can match it. Getting to this point…
