The most likely reason you are trying so hard to be perfect is because you have a lot riding on this perfectionism.

In your past you got the idea that good grades, a good job, and great to perfect performance is rewarded much more than a regular performance.

People look up to those who are close to perfect. They aspire to be like them and give them extras!

Those that are close to producing perfect results make a lot more money, seem happier and have more that their life offered them.

If this already happens to people that are merely close to being perfect, what do you think would happen if you were to actually be perfect?

Would that not solve all your problems? Would that not ensure, without a reasonable doubt, that your friends will stay, that you deserve love and that you get everything in life that you want?

You would be without worries then, right? Living a life in total security as long as you are perfect.

Because, when you are perfect, there is nothing anyone can complain about!

You are the best, what you did was so good there was no room for any error or anyone to attack you through what you did; it was perfect after all.
