Life: What Are The Basic Necessities?
Abraham Maslow was a Psychologist that developed the infamous Hierarchy of Needs Pyramid.
Most people know about it, or at have least heard about it in some form.
Maslow devised this pyramid as a means to explain how humans are motivated, describing their motivations as being hierarchal in nature.
In his mind, every person had to fulfill the bottom, and most basic needs, first and then were able to pursue a higher need.
Once all needs had been met the person would be happy, fulfilled and their actions would only be dictated by their highest need, pushing them further and further into becoming their best self.
He considered the Physiological needs and Safety needs the most basic human needs.
These include food, water, air, warmth, rest, security, social stability, and safety and make up the first support of human needs.
From a biological standpoint, everything else in his pyramid of needs was a bonus.
After all, as long as we have those first two categories met we already have more than most animals have to survive; As long as we meet our basic necessities we should be fine… right?
