Memorize Faster With These 9 Psychological Tricks

Through repetitive use we develop more connections between the neurons in our brain and also add Myelin to the neurons, which increases the speed at which impulses travel.

It’s by strengthening the pathways in our brain that we increase all abilities of the mind, including our Memorization.

Note that the tips outlined below help in both studying and learning anything.

That being said, Repetition is by far the best way to memorize things faster, but there are a few things that help:

  1. Chunking the information. On average we are able to remember 7 pieces of information at any given time. Which means, to really get the most out of your studies try to maximize the number 7 in everything you do. By ‘Chunking’ the information into fewer different pieces you can increase the number of things you actually remember.
    - An example of Chunking: Try to remember the numbers 2 4 6 3 7 1 3 6 9 2. And then combine them to look like the numbers 24 63 71 36 92. You’ll find you can remember more of the second set.
  2. Repetition. Most people try to memorize things on one day, repeating it a couple of times and then assuming that they learned it forever. Do not fall into that pit. Repeat the information you want to remember at least once a day. Keep re-anchoring it in your brain so it…
