There is always an order of operation when it comes to getting things done.

#1 — If you can just will yourself to do it, do it.

First you must check in on your willpower.

Big Disclaimer: The amount of willpower needed to do something is very rarely readily available.

Most people need to work their way up, increasing their discipline enough to get things done, as the willpower itself is not enough.

To see if you are a person that can just will themselves to do something check in how many times in the last week you did the things you only thought about doing and how often you skipped out on them.

Note that this a practiced skill that changes depending on how often you flake on your own commitments or own up to them, including when you wake up, how many more episodes you watch, or how often to work out. Everything you do and do not do counts for or against you. Be careful what you commit to so that you do not fail yourself.

Learn the power of the words: “Do it anyway”.

As long as you value your emotions over getting things done, this will be impossible for you.
