Motivation does not last.

There is no way to keep it forever, nor any way to even make it last longer than it’s natural lifespan.

Motivation is an emotional state, and just like every emotional state, it will disappear with time.

The desire to remain motivated is actually more harmful than good, for it makes us more reliant on it and less likely to do our work without the feelings of motivation.

At least, that is the new-age way of thinking about it.

In truth Motivation is a bit different…

What we consider Motivation is actually more akin to passion.

Motivation is not the drive we feel, but the cause of all our actions.

It is the reason we go to the bathroom, make food, yell at our partner or give them gifts.

It is the reason we get up in the morning and the reason we stay in bed, the reason we work hard and the reason we procrastinate.

Motivation is the core of every action.

Psychologically speaking, every action needs a motivation.

Without any reason to do something, we won’t do anything.
