- Don’t Judge — Accept your current level of motivation and laziness and work with it instead of trying to force yourself into a certain frame. For if you judge yourself you will never be good enough and never truly be able to relax.
- Don’t Think, Just Do — There was a wise old green man, a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away that used to say “There is no try, only do.” Or, in the wise, overly-used, words of the famous Shia Labeouf: “Just Do It!”. Stop relying on motivation, feeling good or knowing what the best way to study is and just sit down and start. For anything worth doing is worth doing poorly too.
- Look At The Alternative — What would be the alternative? Not doing it? Keep wasting time? Not getting the life you want? Not getting that degree, job and having to work at a fast food restaurant instead? I mean, if you really want to choose that, by all means go for it, no one is going to stop you. None of us would consciously choose that life but we do it subconsciously all the time. Know that you are always choosing a path. Procrastinating is also leading you to a certain lifestyle, so be careful what you choose for you might get it.
- Focus On The Little Boosts — There may be some small things you do that make you feel more motivated and less like wasting time. Maybe taking cold showers…
