Practicing Gratitude The Right Way: A Short How-To Guide
Start with the basics: Be grateful for the Water, Food, and the Air that you breathe.
Be grateful that you can see, feel, hear, smell and taste the things you can.
Be grateful for this planet, the flowers, the earth, the wind and the water.
Be grateful for your mind, your soul, and your heart, none of which you had to do anything for to receive.
Be grateful for the basics that you take for granted and the gifts you had to do nothing to get.
Then keep getting more specific: Be grateful for time, being alive, the roof over your head, the clothes on your back, and for each muscle that you can move.
Not everyone has these luxuries, but you do.
Some of them you had to work for, others you did not, but you have them. Appreciate what you have.
Then look around and be grateful for everything you see: Be grateful for the screen you are reading this on, the chair or couch or bed you may be sitting on, and anything else that you see in the location you are.
There is a story to everything that you notice.
Someone, somewhere, some time ago, had to create what you see.
