Raise Your Standards — Motivation For Those That Are Sick And Tired Of Being Sick And Tired

The only thing you need to make your life amazing is to have a certain set of standards for yourself.

Find something worth fighting for, something that makes you follow your routine no matter what, because everything else is just going to make you feel good about yourself but it won’t do anything.

The truth is that you can use all sorts of apps, programs, courses and tools, but unless you decide that you will follow through with it no matter what, then none of them will change your life!

No amount of self-improvement advice, no amount of personal development, no amount of coaching, no amount of reading and no amount of learning is going to do anything for you if you do not set the standard for yourself that you have to do something.

Some people learn their entire lives but never get anything done because they never commit to themselves!

This is not about anyone else.

It is not about the people you can save. It is not about the lives you can change. And it is not about your teachers, your parents or your friends.

If you want to you can continue as you have been all your life, hold you to the same level of performance and keep getting the exact same results you’ve always gotten.

OR

You can say that enough is enough, that you will NOT live this same life any longer, and that today is the day things change.

But that is on you. You have to hold yourself accountable to your own routines instead of asking some app to do it for you, have to hold yourself responsible for your own mistakes instead of trying to find an easy button that does it all for you, and you have to hold yourself to your own standards instead of asking everyone else to help you.

If you do that, you won’t need anything else.

You won’t need a 50$ super schedule that has hundreds of things you do not need, as you will do more with just a piece of paper.

You won’t need to attend Seminars worth thousands of dollars, as the motivation these Seminars give will pale in comparison to the work you do every morning.

And you’ll likely get more use out of a simple spreadsheet, an alarm clock and a empty journal than some people do from most life coaches.

Not to say that these cannot help you go even further, but you will not need them.

In the book The Prosperous Coach by Steve Chandler & Rich Litvin the authors give an idea of how great a lamp post could be as a coach.

If a person were just to talk to a lamp post for an hour a week, share their thoughts and feelings and discuss their life with that lamp post, the person’s life would improve drastically.

They use this example to illustrate how much a life coach could then help if a lamp post can already change your life, but the point I want to make is that you need to use that lamp post!

What matters at the end of the day is whether you did what you set out to do or you didn’t, nothing else.

There are so many tools at your disposal already and so many things around you right now that you could use to fast-track your life if you would just consistently use them.

You are not bound by the things around you but by a mind that does not stick with anything long enough to learn how to use them.

Where there is a will, there is a way; you are just not willing to find that way!

Remember that this life is your own and therefore it is no one’s responsibility but your own as well.

Stop letting it all slip past you and finally raise your standards. Not because you have to, not because I tell you to, and not because you owe it to anyone. Do it because you deserve it.

You deserve a better life than the life you are living now and you know it.

So take responsibility and stop waiting for something to happen that makes it all easier. Find a way to do what you need to get done and to kick yourself into the life you want.

If that means you have to put an alarm on your phone at every hour of the day to remind you to focus; DO IT!

If that means you have to take cold showers every morning to get yourself hyped up and ready; DO IT!

And if that means you have to say “No” to family and friends, grind for week after week, get a coach or a therapist, or go back to school to get the life you want; THEN DO IT!!

You are living this life only for yourself. You have done so much and struggled for so long that you deserve better!

Aren’t you sick and tired of waiting? Aren’t you sick and tired of hoping? Aren’t you sick and tired of being sick and tired of it all?
