It is completely normal to start off excited and become bored of it later.

It happens with most New Year’s Resolutions, happens with most Relationships and will happen to us in a lot of other scenarios as well, be it games, TV shows, etc.

We should not blame ourselves for this.

Instead we must accept that this happened and then ask what we can do about it.

Below are some reasons and possible solutions for the boredom.

#1 — It Gets Too Hard

Now, there is an important distinction to be made: The task itself does not suddenly become more difficult, but instead it gets slightly more difficult and the reason to do it becomes slightly less strong over time, creating a constantly decreasing supply of rewards.

Once the difficulty of the task exceeds the reason for doing it or the reward we gain, we will stop.

Whenever we start to do something it is new and fresh.

It is exciting to figure out, and our goal is often burned into our mind.

So we go at it with all we’ve got.

But… after a while we realize that the progress we’re making is almost non-existent.
