Retain More Information: A Few Tricks To A Stronger Mind

- Sleep For 90 Minutes — Going into the deep sleep phases helps retain information. We do not know much about sleep other than it is necessary to transfer information from the short-term to the long-term memory. Sleep at least 90 minutes after learning something important.
- Marketing Tactics — A lot of money goes into marketing. A LOT of money. All in the hopes that you remember the company, product or service so that you are more likely to buy from them. If you can find out how people do this, you will find tactics you can use for any other information you deem worthy.
- Connect Information — Connect any bit of information to any other things you are already familiar with. Make metaphors for sports, try to make it similar to your video games or TV shows, and draw from anything you already know a lot about. There is a reason you retained knowledge elsewhere; use that.
- Chunking — Chunking is a very simple process from Psychology whereby you put pieces of information together in order to remember more things. The mind can remember 7 (+/- 2) pieces of information at a time. Chunked information counts for 1 of these.
