Self-Improvement: The Problem With Shortcuts
Honestly, I could give you all the shortcuts in the world right now. But you have probably heard them all somewhere before already anyway.
There are hundreds of people preaching these quick ways to success, thousands of apps that pretend they have it all, and millions and millions of posts on these topics. But all of them say the same few lines:
“Listen to me! I am your one step to success! Come to me! Buy me! YOU NEED ME!”
The truth is, that you can find these secrets for absolutely free almost anywhere. I could even give them all to you right now!
But you know what the problem with that is? The problem is it won’t do you any good at all.
All of these people say smart things, all the apps have ways they can help, and every post likely has more golden nuggets in it than you can see right now.
But at this point you are so blindsided by trying to find the easy button for life that you do not take any of these advices to heart.
For instance, if I told you right now the one secret to happiness is doing more of what you like and less of what you don’t like, you’d consider me mad, stupid or blame me for not knowing what I’m talking about.
