Some Simple Tips That Can Help You Stop Overeating

- Raise Your Hunger Awareness — Stop when you are not hungry anymore, not when you are full. The point of food is not to make you feel so full you cannot move, but to satiate the sense of hunger.
- Busy Yourself — If you have more important things going on than eating, you may forget to eat a meal or two.
- Fast — Especially Intermittent Fasting is a great practice for learning how to be hungry. Try to push your breakfast later and later and resist the urge to eat an initial meal right after waking up. The longer you can hold off the better.
- Eat More Vegetables (and fruits) — Vegetables, especially, are a great source of nutrients and minerals. Prioritize vegetables in every meal and fill up with these first. (Fruits are also great but have a lot more sugar than vegetables.)
- Drink More Water — If you can, aim for 4 Liters of water a day (especially if you are exercising regularly). If you do an active sport increase it to 5 Liters of water a day, if you are mostly sedentary then decrease it to 3 Liters.
- Throw Out Junk Food — This includes most unhealthy snacks and fatty foods. They make you more lethargic and cause you to want to eat more. Do not accept candies as gifts, do not buy chocolates and do not allow them to enter your home. (There are exceptions to…
