Stop Overthinking: A Short Guide On Stopping Thoughts In Their Tracks
“I don’t care! Screw it. I’m done!”
Overthinking often stems from the need of a perfect thought, something that fulfills everything you want to do without making any sacrifices.
Such thoughts rarely exist. In most cases you have to make a compromise at the very least, but often you have to decide on one path and sacrifice the other completely.
For most this means sacrificing something good for something better, but sometimes it also means sacrificing something worse for something bad.
In either case, you may feel like you are losing and so you keep thinking to try to find a better path, but sometimes there is no better path.
If you want to stop your overthinking, you may have to make a bad choice to avoid a worse choice, or make a great choice even if it means sacrificing a good one.
Stop trying to find the ideal path and choose one that is before you, with all of your intention.
Any doubt in your mind will come back in terms of overthinking in the hopes to find the that perfect choice.
The truth is: No path is ideal. You will always sacrifice. You will always make mistakes. Things will always go bad.
