- Attention To The End Goal — A leader will focus on the end-goal and will often have a “means to an end” mindset. While many people get lost in the details, a great leader will always keep in mind what truly matters in the end and direct the flow towards that.
- Thinking Ahead — What about the next step? The one thereafter? What do you do when you have achieved it all? Through their attention to the end, great leaders are often able to think a few steps ahead.
- The Determination To Take Responsibility — Instead of asking for permission to take control or for waiting to have to take control, a leader automatically assumes they are in charge and will delegate and act accordingly. This is usually coupled with an intense amount of responsibility and something many would like to pass on.
- The Courage To Make Tough Calls — A great leader will be the one that makes the calls, even if they are difficult. They take responsibility and take the consequences thereof because they know they can do more if they act. They would rather make a bad call than not make a call at all because they know the only way to move forward is to make a choice, even if it is a tough one.
