Productivity has very little to do with how much you actually get done, and way more with the fact that you actually start doing something.

If you just did very little every hour of every day, you would likely get more done than doing a lot in an hour every once in a while.

The biggest issue when it comes to productivity is therefore not that you need to be more efficient with your limited time, but rather that you decide to work more often; aka that you find productivity more frequently.

The most productive people in the world are not those that work long hours every once in a while, but those that chose to work whenever they get a chance.

Now, what makes them different is not that they have a reason to do this, as most would like you to think.

Sure, a strong why is definitely a powerful support, but it is not a necessary one.

When you think about being productive, what usually gets in the way?

It’s usually not your skills, not your time, nor your energy, but rather because you do not want to do it.

You don’t feel like it so you don’t do it.

Usually, that’s the end of the story, although sometimes a little more of a reason is required.
