The Biggest Mistake You Must Avoid

With my dad as my role model I thought I had it all figured out.

He used to say: “Either you suffer now or later.”

What he meant by that was that you either work hard now and reap the rewards later in life or you relax now and then have a difficult life ahead.

With that in the back of my mind I studied hard to get a great job and live a life of comfort.

It all seemed so simple, but as I got into college it became harder.

I realized I did not enjoy what I was studying and felt lost as to what I really wanted to do.

Sure, I could work hard to be a doctor, or a lawyer, or something else that made a lot of money, but that would not be interesting.

But then… what would be?

It took me about 5 years of searching before that search came across a pretty bad ending.

I did not realize it at the time, but I had started to avoid more and more things, did not work and only tried to relax.

Over time I became pessimistic, even depressed, and it ended in a near suicide attempt for me.

To spare you the details of my story and make this a really long, sad post, I will leave it there by saying: You do not have to go through life alone.
