The Biggest Red Flag On A Date
I remember arriving to a date with a particular woman that was filled with countless expectations.
- She hinted heavily at the fact that she looked pretty as soon as she showed up, expecting me to compliment her.
- She stopped in front of every door, expecting me to open it, giving me a stern look when I took too long.
- She gave me her coat instead of hanging it up herself.
- She waited for me to pull out her chair and let her sit in it.
- When I started to talk about something she did not want to talk about she gave me a bored stare and switched topics at the next chance she got.
- She did not once ask me about myself, it was all about her.
- She did not even make an attempt to take out her purse.
What she wanted was a pet, not a partner.
I consider myself a gentleman and try my best to act accordingly.
I try to compliment everyone I meet, hold the door even for strangers, and love to give presents or pay for something.
When there is an expectation for me to do this it loses it’s charm though.
I still do it, but the act of basically needing me to act a certain way shows a lack within that person.
