The Cause Of Most Low Self-Esteem

Most of us follow the crowds, even though we do not like to admit we do.

We are not the unique person, standing out from among the rest, but instead we are just like those around us, at least in the greater view of things.

From very early on we are subconsciously trained to follow those in charge. We do what our parents tell us to do, then what our teachers preach and after that we listen to our various bosses.

There is always someone teaching us what life is all about, and whether or not we believe we follow trends, we all have a certain idea of life that we adopted:

“Go to school. Get an education. Get a degree and a job. Buy a house. Start a family. Work for 40+ years. And then retire and live out the rest of your life.”

That’s the general path we are all set upon and anyone who tries to deviate from this one too far will be excluded from society.

The weird people, the strange ones, the ones with crazy ideas and the ones that are too different are “frowned upon”.

And, knowing this, we subconsciously try to follow the path that was set for us… at least to the most part. We might color outside the lines a little bit, but we never go off the page.
