The Dark Side To Love
The heart is our weak spot.
When we open up our heart to someone we expose the part that can ruin us the easiest.
A slight puncture can cause us to bleed out, and, emotionally speaking, that is true as well.
If someone hits us at our core, if they use who we are against us, then it can ruin our entire life.
Falling in love opens your heart up to someone else.
Another person has your heart in their hands and, the more you love them the more vulnerable you become.
You basically let them in to the point that they have the full control over who you are.
They can manipulate you, control you and abuse this vulnerability.
But, what’s more common, is that they drop you and crush your heart in the process.
Most of the time it heals, but it always leaves a scar, and those scars change how we love and how deeply we trust.
The dark side of falling in love is that we open our heart to others, which is as beautiful as it is dangerous.
The problem is that we cannot not do this, for if we keep our heart closed off it might be safe, but we also won’t ever experience true love.
